Hey everyone! Here are some need-to-know details regarding all of our post-VBS events next week. If you have any questions, please let me know!

Monday – Altitude Trampoline Park
  • Students need to either bring a lunch with them or have lunch picked up for them
  • Cost for Altitude: $15 (I will pay for the entire group once we get there so that we can get in quicker and not have much of a hassle, so students can give me their money beforehand)
  • The plan is to get in around 1:30pm and then be done at 3:00pm
  • I am able to transport only a handful of people, so students will either need to drive or be dropped off/picked up
  • If any parent or adult would like to attend and can help with transportation that would be fantastic! You’re more than welcome to hang with us and join in all the fun! Just let me know!
Tuesday – Human Battleship & Hub Hangout
  • Pizza will be provided for lunch. Students are more than welcome to bring their own lunch if they do not wish to eat pizza.
  • We will begin our time once VBS ends & conclude our time at 4:00pm
  • Students will most likely get a little wet from Human Battleship. Chances are they won’t get completely soaked to the point of needing to change clothes, but they may want to bring a towel.
  • Parents, you’re more than welcome to join in on the fun and play Human Battleship with us!
Wednesday – Gather @ the Gill’s
  • Lunch will once again be provided, we’ll be grilling burgers and hotdogs.
  • We will head to our house as soon as VBS is over. Me and Tiff can transport a small handful of students so we will need help with transportation here as well. Students can start to be picked up at 4:00pm.
  • If anyone (or multiple people) has any corn hole boards or any other fun yard games that we could borrow that day, that would be splendid!
  • You can reach out to me for our address if you need it. (We live in Lacombe, about 2 minutes away from Pelican Park)
  • Parents, you’re invited too!
Thursday – Movie in the Hub
  • Students will need to bring their own lunch
  • We will be watching the new Super Mario Bros. movie. Our family has loved this movie a ton, it’s great nostalgia for myself, but even Emma Grace loves it! If you would like to see a good review of the movie from a Christian perspective you can check out the review from Plugged In by Focus on the Family by clicking this link: https://www.pluggedin.com/movie-reviews/super-mario-bros-movie-2023/
  • We will have popcorn, drinks, and a few other snacks for the movie
  • Feel free to bring any kind of comfortable seating you’d like!
  • We will aim to start the movie between 1:00pm & 1:30pm
  • Parents, I’m sure many of you grew up playing the wonderful Mario games on different consoles. If so you would love this movie! Even if not, you’ll quite enjoy this movie I think. Either way, feel free to come and hang out for our movie time together!
Friday – REVIVE Worship Night
  • This an event that I am beyond excited about being a part of. This will be a night that we gather with several other youth ministries from our parish to have one night to worship and fellowship together.
  • This worship night came together as a byproduct of me and many other Student Pastors and leaders in our Parish have been meeting monthly over the last 14 months to simply, yet earnestly, pray for the teenagers in our parish. We have prayed emphatically for the Lord to work in their hearts and lives and to use them in a mighty way that they might bring about an awakening and a revival here in St. Tammany Parish. All we have done in these 14 months is simply plan and seek what the Lord would have us leaders and pastors do beyond that and recently we felt that we should combine together to have an evangelistic event centered on worship, prayer, and the Gospel. So, that is precisely what will happen next Friday. We will worship, we will hear testimonies from different teenagers about what the Lord has done and is doing in their lives, we will intentional times of focused prayer, and before the night is over the Gospel message will be shared to all in attendance where we will call all to respond, whether it is to repent and place their faith in Christ for the first time, or to repent and further commit to serving our Lord Jesus Christ. I do believe the Lord wants to use our teenagers in a mighty way for Kingdom-work, and I believe this event will help foster that. This event will happen again in July and then again in the Fall & Spring and so on. While this first one will be heavily adult-led and driven along with student testimonies, our hearts and our collective goal is to see this become a heavily student-led and student-driven event in the future.
  • We will be meeting this time at FBC Slidell.
  • Time will be 5:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Like with the other events, if you’re able to help with transportation for this event please let me know!
  • If you’re an adult or parent, you are more than welcome to come and attend. In fact, I would love for you to so that you can get a glimpse of what we are trying to accomplish for the Lord through our teenagers. It will be a great night of worship nonetheless.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
