Many plans are in a man’s heart,
But the counsel of the Lord will stand.
// Proverbs 19:21
I absolutely love to make plans. I enjoy writing out plans and working on all the details. I am a planning junkie. But not all plans actually come to fruition, and many of them probably should not. There are some plans that would actually turn out bad. There are other plans that would be fine, but they would be a waste of time and energy. But the best plans, oh the plans that are fulfilling and are sure to succeed, are the plans that come from God. How do we know which plans are from God? First, we read the Bible. God has a miraculous way of taking His Word written so long ago and applying it specifically to our life today. Next, we pray. Rather than asking God to bless the plans we make by ourselves, we ask God for His plan. God uses other things like authorities in our life, and even some circumstances, but it all will agree with His Word.
- Thank the Lord that He cares enough for you to make good plans for you.
- Ask God to give you “spiritual eyes and ears” to see and hear what He says to you from His Word.
- Ask God to reveal His perfect plans to our Long-Range Planning Team as they also seek the Lord in prayer.
