7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: 8 ‘I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.’” // Revelation 3:7-8
What opportunities lay ahead of FBC Mandeville? Would God use us to reach many, many people with the Gospel and make lots and lots of disciples for Jesus? Might we be able to make great strides in making “Jesus First on the Northshore?” Could we be used by God to strengthen marriages, to be a blessing to the community, to push back spiritual darkness, and more? If so, it will be God’s power that accomplishes these things. If God opens spiritual doors, no one can stop Him. Notice the keys to us being privileged to be used by God in His mighty works: keeping His Word and not denying His Name.
- Pray and ask God if there are any areas in your life where you are not keeping His Word. Agree with Him and ask Him to help you keep His Word in the future.
- Ask Him to give you a hunger and thirst to read His Word daily.
- Ask God if there are any ways you are denying His Name. Agree with Him and ask Him to help you not do so anymore.
- Ask God to allow you/us to be tools in His hand as He opens ministry doors that no one can shut.
- Ask God to show the Long-Range Planning Committee the doors He has opened.
